Globally renowned DJ and producer Sango recently made a stop in D.C. at Howard Theatre as part of his LIVE + Direct Tour. We had the opportunity to sit down with him and discuss his latest project, "North Vol. 2"—a deeply personal work created during a period of loss, grief, and life's ups and downs.

"If you notice, all the artists on the project are talking about these things, along with heartbreak," Sango told us in the interview.

Despite the challenges, Sango’s resilience shines through in both the album and his live shows. We got to watch him take the audience through his extensive catalog firsthand. As a producer, he doesn't always receive the same recognition as front-facing artists, but this tour has allowed him to showcase his talents and versatility.

Sango also shared his approach to music as a "student of the game," constantly exploring and blending diverse regional sounds to create something uniquely his own.
